Pink City of India
Jaipur is a city where everything is pink. 141 years ago this pink doesn't even exist. It was just another city. But in 1876 Prince of Whales and Queen Victoria were about to visit to India and at that time the whole city turned to Pink to welcome him. Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II ordered to beautify the city and colored it in terracotta pink in honor of royal guests. Pink was considered the color of hospitality. Since then it became law to have all buildings and homes painted in pink especially the historical buildings and buildings lies within five famous gates of Jaipur. The Maharaja also constructed a lavish concert hall and named it Albert Hall in honor of the British prince. It is modeled after Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
