JAIPUR – NOW A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
India’s pink city, Jaipur (a city of culture, valor as quoted by PM Narendra Modi) has made it to the UNESCO world heritage sites list. Jaipur is India’s first planned city founded by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727, and is only second Indian city to feature on the prestigious list. It is also the capital and the largest city in the state of Rajasthan. It is also home of two prominent UNESCO world heritage sites in India – Amber and Jantar Mantar. It’s a proud moment for a land of hospitality and royalty and its proud people, for having nurtured and protected this heritage for generations.
